I'VE WATCHED SWEENEY TODD!

valentine's day Never will I forget the thrill and elation of managing to sneak into the cinema to watch an 18+ rated movie while I'm still under aged. But c'mon, I'm going to be 17 this year. Just one year away from being 18. What difference does it make?
Sweeney Todd - my SECOND 18+ rated movie I've watched in the cinema.
The FIRST was Invisible Target. Oh that unforgettable day~
One thing about Sweeney Todd is that its bloody. Very bloody. And when I say bloody, it isn't the usual swear word you hear from me to emphasize anger/frustration.
Blood spraying out like a fountain from the slit throats of humans. Just the right thing for me since I LOVE BLOOD. (I wonder why wasn't I born a vampire.)
Johnny Depp - from being a hilarious pirate with funny antics to a cold-blooded serial killer - he once again proved that being versatile is one of his strength. And this totally adds more charm and charisma to his character. He ACTUALLY sings. And he does it pretty well too. His baritones are somewhat decent.
The film producers don't really have to promote this movie much. Just the mention of JOHNNY DEPP and women will already flee to cinemas to catch his latest flick. Bloody or not.
The story revolves around a barber, Benjamin Barker who had a beautiful wife. Unfortunately, while they were out in the market one day, a noble by the name of Judge Turpin caught a glimpse of Benjamin's wife. He lusted for her so badly that he decided to get rid of Benjamin by framing him and incarcerating him in prison.
15 years later, Benjamin returns with a single-minded intention - he wants revenge and he wants Judge Turpin DEAD. He came back with the alias of Sweeney Todd.
What follows after are his revenge-fueled actions to achieve his goal. Including opening a barber shop and slitting the throats of his patrons.

valentine's day His accomplice is the slovenly widow - Mrs. Lovett - who aided and abetted in his revenge. She cooks the meat of the murdered patrons into MEAT PIES and SELLS them. She receives wonderful reception too. (This is like a subtle way of telling us that HUMAN MEAT actually tastes good O_o )
Expect a lot of bloodshed in this dark & ominous musical. I did. And I enjoyed it.
While the aunty sitting beside me covered her eyes for a while to shield her from the coming violence, I actually anticipated it. I love it when the blood stains Johnny's white long sleeves. I always find it beautiful when filthy crimson taints the purity of white. Mmm~ Sadistic. Thats me.
Zhia Ern and Hannah actually thought I was nuts lol.
Don't get me wrong. I love violence. Lotsa blood spilled and stuff. But what I can't stand is the severing of human body parts. Thats like, EW.
See? So maybe I'm not that sadistic after all.
Next show I wanna watch is Elizabeth - The Golden Age. Cate Blanchett!
AND I STILL HAVEN'T GOT TO WATCHED 'ENCHANTED' YET. *sulks*
