valentine's day Mr. Jetplane is Leaving Me...

valentine's day valentine's day

For 3 weeks to go to survival school in Washington State...he leaves tomorrow and returns 4 days before we close on our house...Cue the panic attack!

I miss him already and he hasn't even left yet, is that weird? That being said, while I adore my husband we have been fighting like cats and dogs lately, we're stressed with the upcoming move, me transitioning to working from home, buying a house, etc. etc. So 3 weeks away could do us some good, but I just wish it didn't have to be right now and it didn't include him being out in the wilderness for 3 weeks.

While we can't discuss what this training is (he can't tell me all about it anyway) for those mil wives out there, some of you will know what this is all about.

We should be able to talk for the first week or so, but toward the end we'll have no contact. No, I'm not complaining that my husband will be away for 3 weeks and I can't live without him but, I am complaining because I wish he could be here to help with this move alittle more since I'm going to be working 50+ hours a week at work to ensure that my job is in a good place before we move. I understand it the cross we bare as mil wives so I better suck it up... gotcha...
Will do boss...
Now on a much more serious note. I wanted to take a moment to introduce to another USAF mil wive that some of you may have been familiar with as Southern Prep and some of you may not have been.

I was first introduced to her wedding planning blog last year and felt an instant connection to her.
1. Both young women living in the South.
2. Both planning a wedding on June 7th, 2008.
3. Both having a love of lime green.
4. Both marrying a man in USAF.
5. Both soon to become mil wives.

Her husband David is an EOD guy. On May 11, 2009 while in Afghanistan, he stepped on a land mine. He lost one leg below the knee and severely injured the other. Over the past few months she has blogged about their recovery and it is truly an amazing and inspiring story.
valentine's day
Keep David and Liz in your prayers and never forget that people like David risk their lives everyday to protect our freedom. You can keep up to date with their story here.
