A few months ago I coined the term, "cupcake hustle" at one of cupcake business classes. I define it as a cupcake bakery owner who does more than promote their business, they also promote themselves as a brand. When promoting themselves as a brand, they do more than sell products like cookbooks or cake mixes. To be brand ambassadors for companies that are not cupcake related is an excellent way to extend your personal brand and reach people who are not cupcake enthusiasts like the readers of Cupcakes Take The Cake. Two people who come to mind who have a lot cupcake hustle are Warren Brown of Cake Love and Marlo Scott of Sweet Revenge.
Warren is the new spokesperson for Dell.
Marlo has been featured in Chase's national advertising campaign for Ink, its small business credit card.
