valentine's day It's been awhile since I've arrived early and waited with this much anticipation for ALL the acts on a multiple-band bill; Saturday night was definitely a worthy occasion to break out such fanboy-ness. Capping off powerhouse performances from Vampire Hands and White Denim,
Tapes 'n Tapes ripped through another fantastic set that leaned heavily on material from
Walk It Off while occasionally peppering in favorites from
The Loon.
At this point, I've lost count of how many times I've seen Tapes live (and this dates back to their first NYC show at Sin-e in 2004) and they always bring it, but apart from the music what stood about this particular performance was the BRO factor in the audience. Awesome as always, Tapes successfully overcame the fact that singer Josh Grier lost his voice prior to Friday's Fillmore show; however, they now seemed to have a bigger potential distraction on their hands....shirtless BROS throwing beer and thrashing about as though they had rubber bands tied around their junk (you know, like bulls at a rodeo? )! See the horror (and Tapes overcoming via rocking) after the jump....
