Calling all cupcake makers!!!  

We are looking for people who are interested in participating in the Cupcake Piping Contest (Sponsored by Trophy Cupcakes & Lucks Food Decorating Company) at our Seattle Birthday Bash!

We need amateurs and professionals who want to show off their cupcake piping and decorating skills!  Each participant will have 1 minute to choose embellishments & plan their cupcakes.  Then they will have 2 minutes to pipe frosting & decorate 12 cupcakes!

Winners will receive:

• Bragging Rights! 
• The title of "BEST Cupcake Piper in Western Washington"
• A certificate
• A cupcake prize! (to be announced at the party!)

Each participant will also get to keep the cupcakes they decorate!

Winners will be chosen by a fantastic group of judges!  Carrie Middlemiss of Bella Cupcake Couture, Jessie Oleson of CakeSpy.com, April Bakula of Goodies Bake Shop and Betsy Eves of JavaCupcake.com! They will choose a winner based on originality, technique and overall appearance. 

Trophy Cupcakes will be providing the cupcakes and frosting and Lucks Food Decorating Company will supply the embellishments and decorations for the contest! 

Our 6th Birthday Bash will take place Tuesday, December 7, 7-9:30pm at Chopstix in Seattle, WA.

valentine's day Odds and Ends of The Jetplanes

Well... Hello all... Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend because the Jetplanes had an awesome weekend.

Friday - A lil OG and hitting up Best Buy and World Market (needed some Sophia). And finished the latest Sookie book... more info to follow

Saturday - Puggie Meet Up - Subway - hanging out with the dogs and watching a lil HBO, then cleaning out closets and preparing for upcoming Yard Sale. At night we hit up a comedy show the first one in a while being held in Pcola. It was a great time.

Sunday - Took the dogs to the beach on base, commissary for groceries, saw Star Trek, and then home to cook dinner and Mr. did yard work.

Quite a way to start a Sunday morning... don't you think... I love the fact that we seriously live 10 minutes away from this...

Someone did not want to go home....

Someone was a little tired on the way home...

All in all, it was quite an enjoyable weekend.

The folks over at Traditonal Home were kind enough to clue me in to another "free stuff" opportunity. I am passing it along....you know...sharing the wealth and all. The contest is for a $20,000 bedroom makeover, and you can enter as many times as you want here.

Good Morning to all and a very Happy Friday. And since it is Friday, it means that is time to name the next finalist for Pugapalooza. Today, I am announcing the final finalist for Pugapalooza, and next week I will also show you all the honorable mentions. I was over whelmed with the entries, and its been very hard to narrow them down. All the puggies are too cute for words, and I've tried to select some pug puppies as well as older pugs to spread the love around.

The week's finalist is the extremely cute Buster.

I just adore the birthmark on his little nose. Buster is the proud doggie of Meaghan at Grable Tales. Please head over to their blog and give them some love today.

Buster, like most pugs, can give you a look that is truly priceless. I look at him and he reminds me of a lil man sitting there asking you, "Excuse me, but why are you taking my picture..."

valentine's day Pug of the Week 1

Well, welcome to all my fellow pug lovers. Today is the first Friday in Pugapalooza and I'm happy to introduce you to the first puggie to be selected for the finals.

Her name is Chief and she's the furbaby of the one and only d.a.r. from First comes love.



Wasn't she just a cutie pie when she was a puppy? Pug puppies melt my heart every time, they are my own personal kryptonite on a bad day. But don't worry, they are still cute when they are full grown as well.

Look at that face... how can you say no to a look like that?

Everyone be sure to congratulate d.a.r. and Chief on their selection of Pug of the Week. They have been moved to the finals of Pugapalooza.

valentine's day Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day...

Its our 1st Pug of the Week, and let me tell you, narrowing these cutie pies down, is pretty hard. Thank you all so much for entering, the response has been great. I'm so glad others out there share my undying affection for pugs. So be on the lookout for the Pug of the Week tomorrow, and they just might get a little something special.

** Thanks for all the kind words about a baby Jetplane, I know its never the "right" time. But there is a lot to consider. The military adds a whole level of "fun" to the equation. Planning on getting pregnant, knowing your husband won't be there for part of it, its a scary situation. Adding to the fact that I'm far from family and friends, its difficult to deal with. But its what we're going to have to deal with. I'm a total drama queen so I'll flip my sh!t on a daily basis, cuz I'm crazy like that.

Happy Friday to everyone in blogland. Its been a crazy long week, and I'm so happy that its Friday. I'm sitting at my desk, looking at my large bouquet of lovely pink tulips that Mr. Jetplane sent me yesterday and a little sad that I won't see him tomorrow.

But enough about me... Its Friday and its an extra special Friday because not only do you get to a little puggie loving, but today is the offical launch of Mrs. Jetplane's Pugapalooza Contest.

Yes, that's right Pugapalooza! What is it you ask, well Mrs. Jetplane is hosting a contest for all you puggie lovers.

Here are the Rules:

1. Send in your cutest, funniest, best pictures of your (or a friend/relative's) pug*
2. Mrs. Jetplane will select the top 2 and the bloggers will decide the winner
3. Contest starts now and ends March 15th
4. Starting next Friday until March 13th, Fridays will feature other bloggers' pugs. And you can get a sneak peak on the competition.
