"Red Velvet cake filled with a flowing lava of chocolate fudge inside with valentine's cream cheese frosting adorned with fresh, luscious chocolate dipped strawberries, fresh, juicy, Bing chocolate covered cherries, and even a cake-heart-cut out as a topper too!"

valentine's day Cherry cheesecupcake cupcakes Monday, Wednesday, Friday at Retro Bakery

I've decided that sooner rather than later I want to do a long weekend in Las Vegas, in part to eat cupcakes such as those I've heard so much about at Retro Bakery, in part to get a tour of the Zappos offices (nothing to do with cupcakes, save for the fact that Zappos employees are cupcake fans, but I just read Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh's book Delivering Happiness and highly recommend it, especially if you run a business) and soak up some sun and maybe play some slots. Hopefully I can get there in February for a few days of R&R. Anyway...you can enjoy these cupcakes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in January. See retrobakerylv.com for more information. valentine's day Life's Ambrosia

This past weekend was an amazing fundraiser called "Will Bake for Food" where Seattle/Tacoma food bloggers came together with their home-baked goods to raise money for NW Harvest. The event was scheduled from 10am-2pm, but all the baked goods were sold out by 12:30!

At the event two bloggers brought cupcakes! Of course I, JavaCupcake, was there with my delicious cupcakes (stay tuned for my recipe for these Candy Cane cupcakes!)... but so was Life's Ambrosia. After seeing her adorable creations, I decided to check out her website!

Here's a picture she tweeted before the event of her cupcakes before they're frosted and then all ready to go! Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting!
