And separately, for the bacon lovers, they wrote on Facebook that they were prepping "The Oink...chocolate cupcake, whipped cream center, maple frosting garnished with candied bacon and sea salt."

valentine's day Godiva Chocolate Cupcakes At Top Chef Just Desserts Party

Last Wednesday, I attended a fun event at Andaz Hotel in midtown.  It was a "Top Chef Just Desserts" watching party which was sponsored by Godiva.  If you are keeping up with the show, then you know it's been an exciting season full of pastry chef drama.  For last week's Quickfire Challenge, the final four chefs, Danielle, Morgan, Yigit, and Zac, had to create four chocolates that represented special in their lives. The winning chocolates will be sold as a limited edition box. Morgan was the winner!  He was at the party as well as Top Chef host Gail Simmons. I was so happy to met Gail! I asked her if she likes cupcakes and she said she's "very democratic about all cakes". The Godiva cupcakes are pretty good. I preferred the chocolate buttercream frosting with chocolate cake for that extra burst of chocolate. You can order the cupcakes online for $28 for a half dozen.
