Now, I'm pro-valentine's day , and I would imagine it's one of the biggest, if not the biggest sales day for cupcake bakeries (can any of you cupcake sellers chime in on that?) but you have to appreciate the spirit of these anti-valentine's day cupcakes as well.

That's what Laura Kosisto at The New York Observer calls them:

The store, which also sells coffee and other baked goods, is looking for new locations on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side; in Chelsea around 21st Street and Sixth Avenue; in the West Village; and around Lincoln Center. A Times Square store is already in the oven.

Crumbs also plans to spread more to the outer boroughs, including Park Slope and Forest Hill in Queens. The store is looking for spaces between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet that have good foot traffic. Crumbs, founded in 2003, also recently announced it will go public through a $66 million merger with an investment company. As the country's largest cupcake chain, it currently operates 16 stores in New York City alone.

Festive handmade cupcake earrings for your favorite Valentine! These inedible cupcakes are the perfect accessory for your favorite cupcake baker, secret sweetheart, or just the perfect thing to wear in February.

We sculpted the cupcakes by hand from polymer clay, and included all the details. The cake has a great crumbly texture, the frosting is a thick, deliciously swirled pale pink buttercream, garnished with lots of tiny pink and white sprinkles and a bright red handmade heart. Each cupcake is a tiny bit different, just like real handmade cupcakes!

** Measurements **
The cupcakes are a little over 1/2" (12mm) tall, and are accented with a bright red swarovski crystal for some extra sparkle. They are finished on closed-back sterling silver ear wires, and fall 1 1/2" (4cm) from where the wire exits the ear to the bottom of the cupcakes. See the photos for a sense of scale.
